Al-Shorta faced their first defeat of the season against Al-Kahraba, losing 2-1 in a match held this evening as part of the second round of the Iraqi Premier League.

Following the match, Tunisian coach Sami Trabelsi and defender Ahmed Yahya stepped up to take responsibility and talk about the reasons for the defeat.

The Tunisian coach began frustrated with the result, asserting that his team was not at their best despite controlling some periods of the match.

He said: "We congratulate Al-Karma on their victory. They deserved the three points because they were the most focused."

He added: "We had an average first half. We missed two clear chances that could have changed the course of the match."

The coach stated: "The goal we conceded came from a clear individual error. In league matches, you cannot gift the opponent and expect to win."

He stated: "The police team is strong, and losing is part of the game. But what matters to me now is the reaction. We must learn from this harsh lesson."

The coach stated: "We have talented players, but we need to be sharper in front of goal and more focused defensively. We will work on correcting these mistakes in the upcoming training sessions."

Closing remarks: "I take full responsibility. The fans deserve better than this, and we promise to come back stronger in the next match."

Ahmed Yahya, the Police defender, spoke angrily about the team's performance and issued a direct apology to the fans.

A player stated: "To be honest, today we were not the team everyone knows. We entered the match with too much confidence and paid the price."

He stated: "The goal from Karama came from a defensive coverage mistake on our part. My teammates and I take responsibility."

He added: "We controlled the ball in the second half but without any real danger. This is not enough for a team competing for the title."

The club stated: "We apologize to the Al-Shorta fans. You are our constant support, and what happened today is not befitting of the club's name and history."

Zad stated: "The karma page has closed. We have a lot of work ahead to get back on the right track. We promise you that the future will be better."

With this defeat, Police FC's points tally remains at 3, while Al-Karama has increased their total to 4 points after one win and one draw.
