Al-Karma achieved their first victory in the Iraqi Premier League this season, overcoming their guests Al-Shorta with a score of 2-1 in a match held this evening at the Al-Jawlan Stadium in Anbar, as part of the second round of the competition.

The result lifted the Anbar Falcons' tally to 4 points, while Al-Shorta continued to bleed points, remaining at just 1 point.

Police SC entered the match strongly and managed to snatch the lead in the fourth minute through Koko, giving the "Green Lyre" an early advantage and unsettling the home side's plans.

The goal gave the Police a morale boost, but it didn't last long. Al-Karma responded swiftly, and in the 7th minute, Paul Bassein managed to find the net, but the referee disallowed the goal for offside after reviewing it with VAR.

Karama continued to apply pressure, being the relatively better team in terms of possession and creating chances compared to Al-Shorta, who retreated after their early goal.

The reward for the home side came in the 32nd minute when Paul Basin struck again to level the score, ending the first half at 1-1.

The first half revealed a relative superiority for Al-Karma in terms of positioning and movement, while Al-Shorta appeared lackluster and failed to build organized attacks after the first goal.

With the start of the second half, Al-Karma continued their dominance, translating it into a second goal in the 51st minute through Amouri Faisal, who took advantage of a defensive mix-up from Al-Shorta to put his team ahead 2-1.

After the goal, the Police tried to come back into the match and launched several attempts to score an equalizer, but the defensive organization of Al-Karma and the decline in the performance of the attacking players prevented that.

With this victory, Al-Karma raised their points total to 4 after having drawn 1-1 against Mosul in the first round.

In contrast, Police FC is stuck at just one point after drawing their opener against Karbala, marking the team's weakest start in recent times.
