Manchester United Finalizes Carlos Baleba Deal
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has announced that Cameroonian midfielder Carlos Baleba of Brighton is close to a move to Manchester United, confirming that the deal has reached an advanced stage.
According to Romano, the two clubs have reached a verbal agreement regarding the player's transfer, after Manchester United made an improved offer today, following Brighton's rejection of a previous bid worth £65 million.
Balyba, 22, is preparing to join Manchester United, a move that comes after the English club was the only option the player wanted to transfer to.
Manchester United has placed Bahlaba at the top of their list to bolster the midfield, as manager Michael Carrick aims to reinforce the team with a physically strong player capable of fulfilling defensive roles in the center of the pitch. Previous reports have suggested that the deal could approach the £70 million mark.
The anticipated arrival of Baleba comes after Manchester United's summer signings of Youri Tielemans and Andre Santos, making the Brighton player one of the key reinforcements for the team in midfield ahead of the new season.
