Official: Bondarenko Joins Al Ahli Saudi
Al Ahly has officially announced the completion of their contract with Ukrainian Artem Bondarenko, putting an end to the controversy that surrounded the deal after the initial announcement was deleted in recent hours.
Bondarenko's transfer to Al Ahli is on a one-season loan, with a clause obliging the Saudi club to purchase the player's contract, according to the announced details.
The Ukrainian player's contract with the club extends until 2029, while he will wear the number 19 shirt, a move that reflects Al Ahly's commitment to completing the deal and strengthening their squad for the new season.
The transfer is valued at around €8 million, after Bondarenko completed the required medical examinations, along with a photo session for his presentation at the club's headquarters in Jeddah.
Al Ahly raised eyebrows after deleting the announcement of the player's signing about 30 minutes after it was published, before the club returned with an official statement confirming the deal.
Bondarenko joins Al Ahli from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk, embarking on a new journey in the Saudi league, amid fan hopes that he will be a strong addition to the team this season.
