Liverpool Increases Bid for Mentié

Liverpool continues its efforts to strengthen its attacking line, having submitted a new offer to sign Gambian winger Yankuba Menteh from Brighton during the current transfer window.

According to journalist David Ornstein from The Athletic, Liverpool submitted a second bid of £60 million after Brighton previously rejected their first offer of £50 million. However, Brighton has also rejected this improved offer.

It is understood that Brighton will not be prepared to part with Minter for less than an amount approaching £70 million, creating a gap of around £10 million between the club's valuation and Liverpool's latest bid.

Menteh is 22 years old and plays as a winger. He joined Brighton from Newcastle United in the summer of 2024 for around £30 million.

Liverpool's interest in Minton comes as the club seeks to bolster its attacking options on the wings. Brighton's stance remains clear, as they hold firm on their financial evaluation of the player, awaiting whether Liverpool will make a third offer in the upcoming period.
