Atletico Madrid CEO Shocks Barcelona with New Statements

Miguel Ángel Gil Marín, the CEO of Atletico Madrid, has reiterated that Argentine striker Julian Alvarez is not for sale, as Barcelona continues to show interest in acquiring his services during the current transfer window.

Marin stated: "Atletico, like all big clubs, is built on great players, and I am convinced that Julian is one of them, in addition to being a fantastic professional. We must compete with our values, with homegrown talents and the best players we can sign from abroad."

He added: "We will support Julian and continue to care for him until he can reach his full potential, because we need him to keep competing with the top clubs in Europe."

Addressing the controversy surrounding the player's future, he stated: "We must understand that Julian has not been surrounded by the best advisors regarding his professional career in recent months. We will not allow other clubs and their media to dictate what we should do, set our sporting strategy, or diminish our respect."

Julián Álvarez announced nearly two months ago his desire to leave Atlético Madrid, stating that a transfer would be the best option for everyone, while expressing his wish to fulfill his dream of moving to Barcelona.

Atletico Madrid is holding firm in its refusal to sell the Argentine striker, only considering a departure if his release clause of €500 million is met.
