Barcelona Set to Secure New Contract for Hamza Abdel Karim
Barcelona's sporting staff have been convinced by the levels shown by Egyptian forward Hamza Abdel Karim, who excelled with the youth team and during the pre-season with the first team. As a result, the club has decided to move towards improving his current contract, which runs until 2029.
According to the "Jijantes Fc" platform, Barcelona is set to renew Hamza's contract, increasing the release clause from the current €15 million to €150 million, along with a salary adjustment to match the new clause value.
The decision reflects Barcelona's trust in Hamza, who is 18 years old, as one of the club's bets for the present and future, especially after he showcased a remarkable scoring instinct and possesses the characteristics of a traditional striker that are highly sought after in the transfer market.
Hamza joined Barcelona last season on loan, before the club activated the option for a permanent transfer until 2029, with Al Ahly receiving a fixed fee of €1.5 million, plus an additional €5 million tied to the player's performance-related objectives.
The Egyptian striker had an outstanding pre-season with the first team, scoring two goals against Birmingham, and continued his scoring streak against Basel and in the Joan Gamper Trophy, becoming Barcelona's top scorer during the pre-season after participating with the Egyptian national team in the World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Hamza's chances of making his official debut with Barcelona against Elche on Sunday are increasing, having secured a spot on the roster. His physical strength and finishing accuracy, particularly with his left foot, provide him with an opportunity to continue developing, especially with the absence of a traditional striker in the team following the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres.
