Imam Ashour to Stay at Al Ahly

Journalist Amir Hisham confirmed that Al Ahly star Imam Ashour will continue with the Red Devils and will not leave the team in the new season, noting that the player has recently been undergoing a rehabilitation period and is now ready to participate according to the coaching staff's vision.

During his show Modern Sports, broadcast on Modern MTI channel, he stated: "Al Ahly has made an offer to renew Imam Ashour's contract, and negotiations have been postponed to a later time."

He added: "The only idea for opening the file on Imam Ashour's contract extension is for him to go himself and inform the officials of his readiness to extend the contract. Imam Ashour is committed to Al Ahly, and in the event of a suitable offer of $7 or $8 million."

On another note, Al Ahly is gearing up to face Eastern Company on Sunday at Cairo International Stadium, in the first round of the Egyptian Premier League.
