The Egyptian Football Association has issued an official statement announcing its monitoring of all disciplinary actions initiated by FIFA against Hossam Hassan, the national team coach, Ibrahim Hassan, the team manager, and player Mostafa Ziko, following their comments after the match between Egypt and Argentina in the World Cup.


The Egyptian Football Association stated on its Facebook account: "The Egyptian Football Association is following up on the disciplinary actions initiated by FIFA against Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the national team, Ibrahim Hassan, the team manager, and player Mostafa Ziko, in light of their statements following the match between Egypt and Argentina in the 2026 World Cup."


The federation highlighted its respect for FIFA regulations, stating: "The federation confirms its respect for FIFA rules and procedures, and will provide the necessary responses and legal memoranda within the specified deadlines, while affirming support for those involved in the procedures and defending the rights of Egyptian football through official channels."


The federation concluded its statement: "The federation also emphasizes its respect for the principles of fair play and the organizing bodies, while retaining its full right to defend the interests of the coaching staff and players before the relevant FIFA authorities."
