Real Madrid Finalizes Deal for Racing Santander Starlet

Real Madrid is close to finalizing the signing of Sergio Martinez, a 19-year-old midfielder from Racing Santander, as part of the club's strategy to monitor young talents and invest in promising players for the future.

According to Ramon Alvarez de Mon, Martinez is close to a transfer to Real Madrid, with an agreement between the player and the club. There is confidence within the Madrid management to complete the deal in the upcoming period.

The Spanish player has a release clause of €3 million in his contract with Racing Santander, but Real Madrid prefers to negotiate directly with the club instead of paying the clause, in order to avoid any complications that may arise from activating the clause.

Real Madrid's plan is to register Martinez with the Castilla team, while simultaneously giving him the opportunity to directly enter the first team's dynamics and train with José Mourinho's group, similar to the approach the club has previously taken with several young talents.

If Real Madrid decides not to rely on him directly, the option to loan him again to Racing Santander remains on the table, in order to give him the chance to continue developing and gaining more experience before returning to the Spanish capital.

Standing at approximately 1.90 meters, Martinez plays as a defensive midfielder and is known for his strength in aerial battles and ability to engage in one-on-one confrontations. These factors make him a promising player who can be developed and utilized in the long term.
