Tottenham Sets Price for Pape Sarr Sale
Senegalese midfielder Baba Rahman faces an uncertain future at Tottenham Hotspur, with increasing interest from several clubs looking to sign him, coinciding with manager Roberto De Zerbi's restructuring of the team's midfield.
Competition for midfield positions has intensified following Tottenham's signings of Sandro Tonali and Matheus Fernandes, leaving Pape Matar Sarr's situation more uncertain. The 23-year-old is under contract with the club until 2030.
Sources close to player agents have informed "CaughtOffside" that Al Ahli Saudi has inquired about the possibility of signing Sarr, while Aston Villa and Brentford are also monitoring the player's situation. However, the Saudi club has yet to make an official offer.
Sky Sports reports that Tottenham has spent approximately £185 million on Tonali and Fernandez, identifying Sarr as one of the players potentially leaving the team, amid Brentford's interest in his services.
Aston Villa appears serious in its interest in the player, having included him among its midfield targets. Tottenham has set a valuation of around £50 million for Sarr, benefiting from his young age, experience in the Premier League, and his contract running until 2030.
Sarr's departure could be suitable for both parties given Tottenham's increased options and the player's need for regular participation. However, the club will not easily lower its demands, and Aston Villa will need to approach the £50 million mark if they want to finalize the deal.
