Yasser Rayan: Al Ahly to Play Cautiously Against Barcelona

Yasser Rayan, the former star of Al Ahly, spoke about the club's preparations for the friendly match against Barcelona scheduled for today, Wednesday, as well as the team's readiness for the upcoming 2026-2027 football season.

Yasser Rayan, during his appearance on the "Stadium Al-Mahwar" program, stated: "The match between Al Ahly and Barcelona will be a very big event and an extremely important game for the Reds before the start of the new season."

He added: "Al Ahly will play the match defensively and cautiously against Barcelona, especially since it is the last game for both teams before the start of the new season, and Amouta excels at playing defensively."

Ryan stated: "Spanish football is characterized by speed, and Barcelona's playing style is extremely distinctive, relying on quickness. This was evident in the Spanish national team during the World Cup and their title win, but Al Ahly will benefit from facing a team of Barcelona's caliber."

Al Ahly will rely on the core lineup to test all players, and coach Diaa Al Amouta is convinced of Afsha's abilities. He will depend on him in the team's matches during the new season, but not as a starter.

The former Al Ahly star emphasized: "Reda Slim is a good player, and there’s no doubt about his abilities. If Ashraf Dari participates regularly, he will be a starter in the red team's lineup because he is the best among all the defenders in the squad."

Amouta concluded: "It's difficult for me to rely on a lineup made up of new signings; the focus will be more on the players who have been here since last season, and we will depend on one or two names at most."
