Shobir Reveals Reasons Behind Imam Ashour's Absence from Al Ahly's Friendly Matches

Ahmad Shobair revealed the details behind the exclusion of Imam Ashour, the Al Ahly midfielder, from the recent friendly matches the team played during their training camp in Spain, as the Red Giants prepare for the upcoming 2026-2027 season.

Ahmed Shobir, on his radio show on On Sport FM, pointed out that Imam Ashour's absence from current matches is not due to injury. He confirmed that the player has fully recovered from the injury he sustained with the Egyptian national team on July 5 and has been participating normally in team training, raising questions and uncertainty about the real reasons behind his exclusion from the tactical plans.

Shobeir stated in radio comments: "This uncertainty coincides with the player receiving serious offers for a European transfer, at a time when Imam Ashour has not yet finalized the extension of his contract with Al Ahly."

Despite Al Ahly issuing a definitive official statement closing the door on the departure of Ashour or any other key player, the technical or administrative perspective on the player's participation in matches remains ambiguous, even after direct communication with some officials within the club.
