Aston Villa has officially confirmed the signing of Italian Matteo Ruggeri from Atletico Madrid, in a deal worth €25 million as a fixed fee, along with an additional €1.5 million in incentives and bonuses.

Aston Villa has bolstered its ranks by signing Japanese goalkeeper Ziyon Suzuki from Parma for €30 million, with incentives and bonuses that could raise the total value of the deal to €35 million.

Suzuki is 23 years old and has international experience with the Japan national team, having participated with the "Blue Samurai" in the 2026 World Cup. He has also played 22 international matches at the senior level.

The Japanese goalkeeper was born in the United States but grew up in Urawa, Japan, and began his football career with Urawa Red Diamonds, making his debut at just 16 years old. After a brief stint with Sint-Truiden in Belgium, he moved to Parma, where he has played over the past two seasons in Serie A.

Rogeri is 24 years old and previously won the Europa League title with Atalanta in 2024, before moving to Atletico Madrid last summer.

The left-back graduated from Atalanta's academy and made over 100 appearances for the team before moving to La Liga. On the international stage, Ruggeri has represented Italy at various youth levels and has been called up to the senior national team, but he has yet to make his senior debut.
