Borussia Dortmund has announced the signing of French-Algerian talent Amin Latifi, born in 2009, from ES Lislecan. This move reflects the German club's strategy of discovering young talents outside of major academies.

Exclusive information from 'Sky Germany' has indicated that Latifi has transferred to Borussia Dortmund after catching the attention of the club's officials during a trial period with the U23 team. Ingo Preuss, the sporting director of Dortmund's second team, played a significant role in finalizing the deal.

Despite initial reports suggesting a move to the U23 team, Dortmund has officially confirmed that the 17-year-old player will start with the U19 team, continuing his development within the club's academy. Latifi excels in playing on the attacking wings and impressed Dortmund officials during his trial period.

Thomas Bruch, the sporting director of Dortmund's talent development center, stated: "Amin piqued my curiosity immediately, both technically and due to his career path. He doesn't come from one of the major academies; he carved his own way, which shows that there are many paths to reach the top in player development."

Latifi is represented by Makram Nasser and Reda Zanfouri, who is responsible for the French market at Nacrsports, the agency managing his career. French reports indicate that the player spent his formative years at US Lesquin after joining the club at the under-6 level.

The transfer stands out as a remarkable move for a young player stepping away from the shadows of European football to one of Germany's premier clubs. Latifi now faces a new challenge to prove himself within Dortmund's setup and develop his potential towards the first team.
