Reda Shahat Issues Important Message to Al Ahly Players

Reda Shahata, the former Al Ahly player, stated that solving the team's defensive problems does not solely rely on signing new players, but extends to the entire defensive system, which starts with the front-line players.

Reda Shahata stated in a television interview: "Does Al Ahly need defenders? I am against the idea that one line should bear the burden alone. Defense starts from the attack... If you don't have a striker who defends, and wingers who defend, and a midfield that doesn't defend, then thank you... What kind of defense is that?"

The former Al Ahly star explained that the team's success in defense relies on the commitment of all lines, pointing out the necessity of pressing the opponent and preventing them from easily reaching the back line.

He continued: "It starts from the midfield; the opposing player must not be able to get past those three lines. If he reaches the defense, he will be ineffective and exhausted."

Al Ahly is gearing up to face Spanish side Barcelona tomorrow evening in the Joan Gamper Trophy.
