Al-Zawraa has concluded the summer transfer window with a complete overhaul of the team roster, having bid farewell to 16 key players from previous seasons. In response, they have welcomed 13 new names from both within Iraq and abroad in an effort to quickly rebuild the "Nawaris" before entering the competitive fray.

This summer has been anything but ordinary for Al-Zawraa. The squad has seen the departure of names that have made a clear impact. In goal, the team bid farewell to its legendary captain Jalal Hassan after more than 10 seasons and a haul of domestic titles, as he moves to Al-Shorta.

In defense, the quartet of Abdullah Naseeb has returned to Al-Hussein Irbid after his loan ended, while Akam Hashim chose to terminate his contract and has moved to Zakho. Mutham Jabbar has transferred to Al-Shorta, and Durgham Ismail's stint lasted only one season before he joined Nawruz.

The midfield has lost Nizar Al-Rashdan, who mutually terminated his contract and moved to Qatari club Al-Qatar, before Wydad announced his signing. Also departing are Karrar Nabil, who returned to Al-Student, Haidar Abdulkarim, who signed with Al-Nassr, and Murad Mohammed, who transferred to Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya.

The attack has seen the departure of Mahdi Al-Humaidan, who returns to Al-Khalidiya after his loan ended, and Ibrahim Gbadyo, who has transferred to Al-Talaba. Brian Riascos has moved to Al-Hussein Irbid, while Rizq Bani Hani returns after his loan spell. Hassan Abdulkarim "Quqiya" has decided to pursue a professional career in Turkish club Çorum, alongside Clarence Junior, who has become a free agent.

The management did not wait long and took action to compensate for the losses with signings in every position. From Erbil, Uruguayan striker *Michael Cabrera* and Uzbek center-back *Marlin Chuvanova* have arrived. Additionally, goalkeeper *Ahmad Basel*, who enjoyed several successful seasons, has returned from Al-Shorta, and *Amir Sabah* has joined as a right-back.

Goalkeeper *Mujtaba Mohammed* has joined from Al-Gharafa, while center-back *Masis Artin* has been signed from Al-Student. The club has also secured the international Venezuelan center-back *Diego Osio*. In midfield, Ivorian *Ismail Soro* arrives to enhance physical strength, and *Luay Majid*, who previously represented the team, returns. Young talent *Hussein Ziad* has joined from Al-Karkh, and the standout signing is the return of international star *Ali Adnan* from Al-Wehda in Saudi Arabia.

Al-Zawraa has placed its bets on four names at once, the most notable being Egyptian *Mohamed Sherif*, who is on loan from Al Ahly for a season, alongside Colombian *Kevin Kijada* and Uruguayan winger *Nicolas Fernandez* to enhance their options on the flanks.

In this way, Al-Zawraa has undergone a near-complete squad overhaul. The team has lost significant experience across all lines, replacing it with a mix of local expertise represented by Ahmad Basel and Ali Adnan, along with fresh blood from South America, Africa, and Uzbekistan.

The biggest challenge now facing Bassem Qassem and his staff is integration. Thirteen players need time to come together as a cohesive unit, especially after a shaky start in the league with a goalless draw against Al-Minaa, which highlighted the need for a decisive striker.

Al-Zawraa fans have placed great hopes on the new signings, particularly Sharif, Cabrera, and Adnan, believing they can make a difference and steer the team back to winning ways and title contention.
