Constantinlias Passes Medical with Borussia Dortmund
Greek international Giannis Konstantelias has successfully passed his medical with Borussia Dortmund, a significant step towards finalizing his transfer from PAOK Thessaloniki, according to Greek journalist Kostas Lianos.
Constantinlias arrived in Germany on Sunday to undergo medical examinations, following accelerated negotiations between Dortmund and PAOK in the last hours. German reports indicate that the deal is in its final stages, with an official announcement expected soon.
According to consistent reports, the base value of the deal is around €25 to €27 million, with the possibility of the total value rising to over €30 million through add-ons and incentives.
An agreement has been reached with the player for a four-year contract, with an estimated annual salary of around €3.2 million net according to German reports.
Borussia Dortmund's move to sign Konstantelias comes after their negotiations with Cologne regarding German winger Saeed Mela hit a snag, leading the club to turn to the Greek player as their new attacking option.
Sporting director Nils-Uwe Pook has confirmed that Dortmund is still searching for attacking reinforcements, without revealing any names.
Constantelias is set to return to Thessaloniki for personal reasons after completing his medical examination, with plans to return to Germany later to finalize the procedures and officially complete his transfer to Dortmund, as reported by Lianos.
The player's transfer is a significant step in his career, having progressed through PAOK's youth teams and becoming one of the key figures in the first team. He was previously linked with a move to Stuttgart last year, but the deal collapsed at that time due to protests from PAOK fans, before the player renewed his contract with the club until 2029.
