Al Ahli Eyeing Richard Rios Amid Speculation

Colombian midfielder Richard Rios, currently with Benfica in Portugal, has attracted the interest of Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia, as the club considers options to bolster their midfield during the current summer transfer window.

Speculation around Marco Reus's potential transfer to Al Ahly has increased following his agent's decision to follow the club's official account on Instagram, along with following Ruy Pedro, the CEO of Al Ahly Football Club.

This move has sparked interest among Al-Ahli fans, especially with no official announcement yet confirming the club's direct negotiations with the Colombian player.

Reus is 26 years old and plays as a central midfielder, boasting physical strength and ball retention ability, along with his diverse roles in both defensive and offensive play.

The player transferred to Benfica in July 2025 from Brazilian club Palmeiras, signing a contract with the Portuguese side that runs until 2030, for a fee of €27 million according to Benfica's announcement.

Some specialized platforms estimate Rios' market value at around €20.3 million, while other sites raise their evaluation to nearly €27 million, reflecting differing assessment criteria.

The player started his career in futsal before transitioning to outdoor football. He previously represented Flamengo, Mazatlán in Mexico, and Guarani, before joining Palmeiras in 2023.

During his time with Palmeiras, Reus participated in 138 matches, scoring 11 goals, and he celebrated two titles with the team: the Brazilian Championship and the Paulista Championship.

On the international stage, Reyes has appeared with the Colombia national team since October 2023, and he is part of the squad that reached the final of the Copa America 2024. He has 37 international caps and two goals.
