Imam Ashour Excluded from Al Ahly's Friendly Against Barcelona

Former Egyptian football star and sports journalist Ahmad Hassan has reported that Al Ahly midfielder Imam Ashour is officially out of the plans and starting lineup of Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta for the highly anticipated friendly match against Spanish club Barcelona.

Hassan explained in a post on his official Facebook account, citing an informed source, that Imam Ashour will undergo a crucial medical and physical test tomorrow to assess his final condition, which will determine whether he will be on the bench to be utilized during part of the match or completely excluded from the historic encounter.

Al Ahly is preparing to face Barcelona next Wednesday, August 19, in the friendly match of the Joan Gamper Trophy.

Al Ahly has played two friendly matches during their current training camp in Spain, facing Badalona and Europa. They won the first match against Badalona with a score of 3-0, while suffering a defeat against Europa with a score of 2-1.
