It seems that Portuguese forward Rafael Leão's future with AC Milan is drawing closer to an end, as coach Ruben Amorim has informed the club's management of his wish not to keep the player in his new project, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

According to the report, Amorim's position is not solely based on technical and tactical reasons, as the coach believes that Leão's style does not perfectly align with his ideas. This is particularly true given that the player tends to move to the flanks, while the Portuguese coach's philosophy requires greater movement in tight spaces and half-spaces.

The newspaper indicated that Amorim has started to see Leão as a negative factor within the dressing room, especially after the player placed himself on the transfer list in recent times, even though the personal relationship between the two is not bad.

The coach's stance has prompted AC Milan to revise its strategy regarding the asking price for their Portuguese winger, reducing the club's demands from €50-60 million to around €40-45 million in an effort to facilitate his departure during the summer transfer window.

Galatasaray is among the top clubs interested in signing Leão, having previously made an offer through an intermediary valued at around €35 million, including bonuses. The club has also reached advanced agreements regarding the player's salary, which could reach €12 million annually net, along with bonuses.

Despite this, Leao still prefers to wait for an opportunity to move to the Premier League, which holds special interest for the player, before making his final decision. If a suitable offer does not come from one of the English clubs, staying with Milan remains a viable option.

Gerry Cardinale, the owner of AC Milan, is set to hold a meeting with Rafael Leão at the beginning of next week, aiming to clarify the player's situation and end the current stalemate, as both the club and the coach wish to reach an agreement that allows for a smooth departure.

Currently, Rafael Leão's options appear limited to either continuing at Milan despite Amorim's stance or transferring to Galatasaray, while a strong offer from the Premier League remains the scenario the player dreams of.
