Ferran Torres Joins List of Barcelona's Most Expensive Sales

Barcelona has completed the sale of Ferran Torres to Paris Saint-Germain for a fixed fee of €48.5 million, following the French club's official announcement of the player. This transfer marks the fourth highest sale in the history of the Catalan club, according to 'Sport'.

Paris Saint-Germain has become one of the most prominent clubs that Barcelona has dealt with in major sales, having appeared three times on the list of the Catalan club's highest sales.

Neymar Junior's transfer tops the list, as Paris Saint-Germain paid €222 million to acquire the Brazilian forward in 2017, a deal that still stands as the most expensive in football history.

Luis Figo's transfer to Real Madrid in 2000 comes next at a value of €60 million, while Arthur Melo's move to Juventus in 2020 was around €72 million, plus €10 million in variables, despite the deal being linked to a swap with Pjanic for accounting reasons.

Excluding the Arthur Melo deal, the transfer of Ferran Torres ranks as the third most expensive sale in Barcelona's history, and it has become the most lucrative for the club since Ousmane Dembélé's move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2023, with Barcelona receiving €35.4 million from the transfer.

Ferran Torres' transfer to Paris Saint-Germain exceeds the sales of Alexis Sanchez to Arsenal for €42.5 million, Paulinho to Guangzhou Evergrande for €42 million, and Malcom to Zenit St. Petersburg for €40 million, plus an additional €5 million in variables.
