Liverpool Firm on McAllister's Future
Liverpool is holding firm on keeping Argentine Alexis Mac Allister in the squad, despite interest from several clubs looking to sign the midfielder during the current summer transfer window.
According to "CaughtOffside", Liverpool plans to open negotiations with Mac Allister later this year about renewing his contract, despite having two years remaining on his current deal, with the aim of keeping him as a key part of the club's project.
Real Madrid and Tottenham expressed interest in the player earlier this summer, while Chelsea and Manchester City have been in contact regarding him in recent weeks. However, these attempts were met with rejection from Liverpool and the player's representatives.
Alister's father, who acts as his agent, confirmed that his son's departure from Liverpool was never on the table, stating that the player will continue his career at the club, effectively closing the door on a potential transfer this summer.
Alexis Mac Allister is keen to work under new coach Andoni Iraola, viewing himself as an essential part of Liverpool's project. His market value is estimated at €70 million, with the club having set a price of €100 million for his sale last July.
Alexis Mac Allister joined Liverpool from Brighton in 2023 for €42 million, quickly establishing himself as a key player for both the club and the Argentina national team. He has made 54 international appearances, scoring 7 goals. While Galatasaray is monitoring his situation, a departure this summer appears improbable.
