Younis Mahmoud: We Hope for a Memorable Season for Iraqi Football

The Nouroz Stadium witnessed the kickoff of the first round of the Iraq Stars League last night, with a remarkable official and fan presence, led by the President of the Iraqi Football Association, Younis Mahmoud, alongside executive office members and several prominent sports figures.

The opening match between Nawroz and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya set the stage for the new football season, in an atmosphere that reflected the aspirations of the Iraqi sports community for an exceptional edition of the league.

In a statement made during his attendance at the match, Younes Mahmoud said:

He added: "We look forward to this season witnessing fair competition, high technical levels, and organization that befits the history of Iraqi football and its loyal fans, contributing to the continued development of our league and elevating it to the status it deserves."

The President of the Iraqi Football Federation concluded his remarks by stating: "Wishing all the best for our clubs and players, with hopes for a successful season that meets the aspirations of the Iraqi sports family and enhances the status of football in our country."

The attendance was not limited to administrative figures, as the opening ceremony featured the presence of former Iraqi football star Falah Hassan, alongside several important sports and media personalities, adding a festive atmosphere to the league's kickoff.

The management of Norouz Club, the host of the match, made sure to present welcoming segments for the participating teams and guests, highlighting the clubs' commitment to showcasing the league in a manner befitting the reputation of Iraqi football.
