Al-Zawraa seal deal for Mohamed Sherif

Al-Zawraa have officially signed Egyptian forward Mohamed Sherif from Al Ahly to represent the club in the new season of the Iraqi Premier League as well as the Gulf Clubs Championship.

The deal has been completed on a one-season loan after intensive negotiations led by the club's management over the past few days.

According to sources within the club, Al-Zawraa have entered the race to sign Sharif after Al-Shorta were the frontrunners to secure his services, before the Al-Nawras managed to convince the player to join their ranks.

The management confirmed that Sherif does not mind representing Al-Zawraa, and they have obtained the approval of Al-Ahly's management to complete the loan process. It was noted that matters progressed well and positively until a final agreement was reached and the contract was signed.

Mohamed Sherif has extensive experience at both local and continental levels with Al Ahly, having previously won numerous titles, alongside his appearances with the Egyptian national team.

Al-Zawraa hope the player will provide a strong attacking addition to the team, especially given the need for a central striker capable of deciding matches and making a difference.

With this signing, Al-Zawraa have bolstered their attack with one of the most prominent Arab names, in a move that reflects the ambitions of the team to return strongly to the competition for the league title this season.
