Referees Announced for Friday's Opening Matches in Roshen League
The refereeing committee of the Saudi Football Association has announced the officiating teams for today's matches, part of the first round of the Roshn Saudi League for the 2026-2027 season, with three matches taking place.
Al Hilal begins its campaign against Al Faisaly at 9 PM at the Kingdom Arena, officiated by a Spanish crew led by referee Jesus Gil.
Gil will be assisted by Diego Barbero and David Guadaloupe Boras in officiating the match, while Saudi Arabian Mohamed Al-Shahri will serve as the fourth official.
Spanish referee Javier Iglesias will be part of the VAR team, assisted by his compatriot José Monera, in the opening match where Al Hilal seeks to secure their first three points.
In the match between Al-Ettifaq and Al-Riyadh, which kicks off at 9 PM, Saudi referee Abdullah Al-Kharboush will lead the officiating team, assisted by Ammar Askar and Nawaf Saqaf.
Khalid Al-Ahmari will take on the role of fourth official, while Abdullah Al-Shahri will manage the video assistant referee technology, assisted by Mohammed Al-Murshid during the highly anticipated match.
The Neom vs Al-Fayha match begins at 7:50 PM, with referee Ali Al-Qahtani in charge, assisted by Hamad bin Harqan and Ahmed Al-Ateeq.
Mohammed Al-Ghamdi will complete the officiating team as the fourth official, while Sami Al-Jariss will manage the Video Assistant Referee room, assisted by Mohammed Al-Khanfoush.
The opening round sees the return of three clubs to the Roshen League, alongside the start of the campaigns for Al Hilal, Al Ettifaq, and Al Riyadh. This new season promises intense competition right from the starting whistle.
