Sporting Lisbon Stands Firm on Luis Suarez, Rejects Sale

Sporting Lisbon has confirmed their determination to keep Colombian striker Luis Suarez amid increasing interest in securing his services during the current summer transfer window, emphasizing that he is a key player in the team's project and there is no intention to part ways with him.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Sporting CP will not enter negotiations to sell the player and will maintain their stance against interested clubs, highlighting the release clause in his contract, which stands at €80 million.

This comes after the remarkable season Suarez had with the Portuguese team, having scored 38 goals in 53 matches across all competitions, including 28 goals in the Primeira Liga, making him one of the key attacking figures for Sporting.

Luis Suarez's name has been associated with several European clubs, and he has recently entered Barcelona's considerations as a backup option for Julian Alvarez. However, any serious move to acquire him will face Sporting's firm stance and the high buyout clause.
