Inter and Lazio Reshape Frattesi Deal After Unexpected Crisis
David Frattesi's transfer from Inter Milan to Lazio has returned to its normal course after the deal faced a sudden financial and administrative crisis on Friday morning.
Frattesi is preparing to travel to Rome for medical examinations, paving the way for his transfer to Lazio in a deal worth €15 million, with Inter retaining 50% of the player's future resale value, effectively valuing the player at €30 million.
However, the deal is at risk of being halted after several Italian media outlets reported a problem related to Lazio's financial situation, leading to a temporary suspension of the agreement.
According to "La Gazzetta dello Sport," the crisis relates to the liquidity index of the Italian Football Federation, alongside Lazio's requirement to achieve financial balance in the summer transfer market.
As a result, Inter and Lazio have restructured the execution of the deal to align with the regulations of the Italian Football Federation. The original agreement stipulated a season-long loan for Frattesi at a fee of €1 million, with a mandatory purchase clause of an additional €14 million, while Inter retains 50% of the resale value.
According to the same source, Lazio will now pay a higher loan fee, while other media outlets have indicated that it will amount to €5 million, with the purchase clause changing from mandatory to optional. If Lazio decides to permanently sign Frattesi, Inter will also retain 50% of the resale value. The player is expected to travel to Rome for medical examinations and to finalize his transfer.
