Como has made an initial move to sign English striker Liam Delap from Chelsea, as the Italian side looks to strengthen its attacking options during the current transfer window. This comes after the completion of the deal for defender Trevoh Chalobah for €30 million.

According to "Football Italia," transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Como has contacted Chelsea to inquire about the possibility of signing Delap, who is a prominent option in the Italian club's attacking lineup.

This move comes in light of the strong relationship between Como and Chelsea following the Chalobah deal, along with Cesc Fabregas leading the coaching staff of the Italian team, which further strengthens the bonds between the two clubs.

Delap caught the eye during his first season in the Premier League with Ipswich Town in the 2024/2025 season, scoring 12 goals in 37 matches, prompting Chelsea to activate the €35 million release clause in his contract.

The 23-year-old striker has struggled to secure his place in Chelsea's starting lineup, falling behind João Pedro in the attacking options. Delap has scored only two goals in 41 appearances across all competitions, with the majority of his outings coming from the bench.

Como is keen to bring in a new striker to compete and rotate with Anastasios Douvikas. Meanwhile, Álvaro Morata is still part of the team, but a departure could be on the horizon if a suitable offer comes in.
