Mariska Keeps Rodri's Future Open Amid Barcelona Interest

Enzo Maresca, Manchester City's head coach, has left the future of Spanish midfielder Rodri open-ended, after discussing his situation during the pre-match press conference ahead of the clash against Arsenal, scheduled for Sunday.

Mariska stated: "The transfer market is open, and we can buy and sell players; anything can happen. I saw Rodri this morning at the club building, and I warmly embraced him. He looks in good shape, and we will see what happens."

Manchester City manager said: "I embraced him, and now we will have more time to meet. Rodri is undergoing rehabilitation after having back surgery, and when he is ready to train, he will start training with us. This is our plan."

Mariska was also asked about the possibility of Manchester City signing Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea as a replacement for Rodri, but he refused to comment on the matter, stating: "I'll give you the same answer, he's a player at another club, and it's not right for me to talk about players from other clubs, nor do I think it's right for other clubs to talk about our players. I won't say anything about players who are not with us."

Mariska's stance comes as Barcelona continues its efforts to sign Rodri, with the Catalan club confident in its ability to finalize the deal in the coming weeks, according to "Mundo Deportivo."

Ferran Torres' transfer to Paris Saint-Germain is expected to give Barcelona a significant financial boost, enhancing their ability to negotiate with Manchester City for the signing of Rodri during the current transfer window.
