Official sources within Barcelona have clarified the club's position regarding the potential signing of Colombian striker Luis Suarez, currently at Sporting Lisbon. They confirmed to Spanish newspaper "Sport" that the player is not part of the team's plans for the new sporting project, despite his name being linked to the Catalan club in recent times.

Luis Suarez was offered to Barcelona's sports management about two months ago by his agent, Fali Ramadani, during a meeting to discuss the transfer market. The management reviewed the terms of the contract and the possibility of signing him, but the club has not taken any steps to negotiate the deal.

Spanish newspaper reports that Barcelona has been evaluating Suárez alongside several other forwards in recent weeks, especially given his performance and the €80 million release clause in his contract, which has made his name a subject of discussion. However, the club believes he is not the right choice to strengthen the team at this time.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano had indicated that Barcelona was interested in the Colombian striker, but club sources clarified to Sport that the player is not part of the team's plans, and that Barcelona has not negotiated for his signing and will not do so at this time.

Meanwhile, Julián Álvarez remains Barcelona's primary target to strengthen their attack, as the club is determined to pursue the Argentine striker until the end. The player and his entourage are eager for a move to the Catalan side.

Barcelona sources have informed 'Sport' that Lautaro Martínez is not a viable option to strengthen the attack, as they continue to evaluate other names in the market. However, the club's priority remains to finalize the deal for Julián Álvarez.
