Atletico Mineiro Secures Deal for Fred from Fenerbahce

Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro has reached an agreement with Turkish side Fenerbahce to sign midfielder Fred, in a deal that brings the player back to his homeland after 11 years in European football.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal is valued at €2 million, along with €500,000 in add-ons, bringing the total potential value of the operation to €2.5 million.

Fred is set to sign a contract with Atletico Mineiro for three and a half years, with an option to extend the deal for an additional season, following an agreement between the two clubs on the final details.

Fred, aged 33, returns to Brazil after a distinguished European career that began with Shakhtar Donetsk, before moving to Manchester United and then Fenerbahçe in 2023, where he became a key figure in the Turkish team's midfield.

Final procedures are remaining to complete the transfer and make the official announcement, as Fred begins a new chapter in his career with Atletico Mineiro, a club he previously played for during his youth stages.
