Lunin: We're happy with our training, and this is how I made the match-winning goal
Andriy Lunin delivered an outstanding performance as Real Madrid triumphed over Deportivo La Coruña with a 1-0 scoreline, clinching the Teresa Herrera Trophy. He also assisted the only goal of the match, scored by Brahim Díaz.
After the match, Lunin spoke to Real Madrid TV, saying: "It was a very good match, the atmosphere was fantastic, the pitch was beautiful, and everything was great."
He added: "The most important thing is that these matches help us prepare for the league. The second half was a bit more difficult, especially physically, because we are still in the preparation period and putting in a lot of effort and working hard. But these matches are very beneficial for us before the league starts."
Speaking about his key pass to Ibrahim Diaz, he said: "It was a bit natural. On corner kicks, when you get the ball, you always try to release it quickly. I didn't know Ibrahim Diaz was that fast."
He elaborated on his feelings after the start of preseason training: "I feel very good. I have been working well, with intensity and high quality. We have a new coach, new feelings, so I hope we have a good year."
Reflecting on the early weeks under coach José Mourinho, Lunin concluded his remarks by saying: "It is characterized by a lot of intensity and hard work, but we like it."
