Official: Al-Shamal Qatar Announces Departure of Akram Tawfiq

Al-Shamal FC has officially announced the termination of Akram Tawfiq's contract today, Wednesday, ahead of the start of the 2026-2027 season.

Al-Shamal Club has officially bid farewell to its player Akram Tawfiq, expressing appreciation for the efforts he put in with the team throughout the last season.

The official statement from Al-Shamal highlighted that Akram Tawfiq contributed significantly alongside his teammates to achieve remarkable results last season, where the team secured second place in the Qatari league table for the first time in its history, following a fierce competition for the title until the final round of the tournament.

The Egyptian midfielder moved to Al-Shamal in Qatar last summer on a free transfer after his contract with Al Ahly ended.

Tawfiq played 23 matches with Al-Shamal across all official competitions, failing to score a single goal, but he did provide 3 assists.
