Al-Zawraa Secures Deal for Venezuelan Diego Osio

Al-Zawraa has announced the official signing of Venezuelan international center-back Diego Osio, coming from Deportivo La Guaira in a deal aimed at strengthening the team's defensive line for the new season.

Osio is 29 years old and possesses good local and continental experience, having represented several clubs in the Venezuelan league, most notably Carabobo, Caracas, and Puerto Cabello.

The player had a professional stint abroad in Colombia with Real Cartagena, before returning to his home country and concluding his last contract with Deportivo La Guaira.

The statement released by the club reads:

"Al-Zawraa SC management announces the signing of Venezuelan international defender Diego Osio on an official contract, coming from Deportivo La Guaira.

This signing is part of the club's plan to strengthen the squad and prepare seriously for local and continental commitments.

We welcome the player to the fortress of Al-Zawraa and wish him success with the sons of the swans in the upcoming phase.

Al-Zawraa's management is looking to sign Osio to compensate for the absence of defender Akam Hashim, who recently transferred to Zakho after a standout season with the Hawks, during which he was awarded the Best Defender in the league.

The Zawraa coaching staff is relying on the experience and physical strength of the Venezuelan defender to build a solid defensive line, especially with the Iraqi Premier League set to kick off soon.

Diego Osio is expected to join the team's training sessions in the coming days after completing his registration.
