Official: Manchester City Signs Goalkeeper Rulli

Manchester City has announced the completion of the signing of Argentine goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli from French club Marseille, in a deal that extends for two seasons until the summer of 2028, pending the completion of international clearance.

Geronimo Rulli returns to Manchester City after a previous experience with the club during the 2016-2017 season, but he did not participate in any matches with the first team at that time.

The 34-year-old Argentine goalkeeper arrives at the Etihad Stadium with extensive experience, having played for several European clubs, most notably Real Sociedad, Villarreal, Montpellier, Ajax, and Marseille.

Geronimo Rulli was one of Villarreal's standout stars during the team's Europa League title win in 2021 against Manchester United, playing a crucial role in the penalty shootout. He scored a penalty for his team and saved one from David De Gea, leading Villarreal to victory in the final.

On the international stage, Rulli has played 8 matches with the Argentina national team, being part of the squad that won the 2022 World Cup and the 2024 Copa America. He also participated with Argentina in the 2026 World Cup, where they finished as runners-up.

Rulli commented on his return to Manchester City, expressing his great happiness with this move, noting that joining a club of City's stature represents an important opportunity for development and working in a highly competitive environment.
