Manchester United Closing in on Jorge Salinas Deal
Manchester United is set to move to finalize the signing of Spanish player Jorge Salinas from Racing Santander by activating the release clause in his contract, which stands at €16 million.
According to 'Sport', the English club plans to pay the release clause to secure the player's services, with Atletico Madrid also monitoring Salinas' situation.
Atletico Madrid may officially move to sign the player after Mateo Rogeri's transfer to Aston Villa is completed, opening the door for a race between the two clubs for Salinas's services.
On the other hand, Racing Santander is determined to keep the player in their squad, but the value of the release clause stipulated in his contract limits the club's ability to reject any offer that reaches the specified amount.
Thus, the final decision will be linked to the moves of Manchester United and Atletico Madrid, at a time when Racing Santander does not have the ability to obstruct Salinas' departure if the full release clause is paid.
