Official: Bayer Leverkusen Signs Facundo Medina
Bayer Leverkusen announced today, Tuesday, the signing of Argentine defender Facundo Medina from Olympique Marseille, on a contract that runs until June 30, 2031.
Medina is 27 years old and is skilled at playing both as a center-back and on the left side. He has been assigned the number 2 jersey with the German team.
Bayer Leverkusen's sporting director, Simon Rolfes, stated that Medina is a player with great experience and a strong personality, noting that he excels in duels and has the ability to impose himself on the pitch.
The Argentine defender joined Ligue 1 in 2020 through Lens, before transferring to Olympique Marseille in 2025.
Discussing his move to the Bundesliga, Medina said: "Joining Bayern in the German league is fantastic for me. During the World Cup in North America, Exequiel Palacios spoke to me a lot about the club and praised it highly, and I want to share in the successes he has achieved here."
