Turkish Journalist Arrested Over Musiala Transfer News to Galatasaray

Turkish journalist Burhan Can Terzi was released last night after being detained and questioned regarding his report on Jamal Musiala, the Bayern Munich star, joining Galatasaray.

Terzi underwent questioning yesterday, August 10, on charges of "publicly disseminating misleading information," before authorities decided to release him without imposing any judicial supervision.

After his release, the journalist disclosed new details regarding the source of the information he published, confirming that he received the news from Hazard Biouka, a member of Galatasaray, who informed him of a mutual agreement between the Turkish club, Bayern Munich, and player Jamal Musiala.

Terzi explained that Biouka assured him the information is reliable, having received confirmation from Galatasaray's president, Dursun Özbek.

The journalist added that after Galatasaray issued a denial statement, he reconnected with the source who insisted that the information remains accurate, and that club officials were denying the information at that time, according to his testimony.

He also confirmed that the news was not isolated, explaining that other sports channels and media, including TRT and beIN SPORTS, published information about the deal at the same time, after stating that they had verified it through their own sources.

The Turkish journalist emphasized at the end of his statement that he had no intention of committing an offense, and that he published the information as a sports journalist who received a tip he believed to be credible. He firmly rejected the accusations against him and reserved his right to take legal action against the person who, according to his account, caused him to face this crisis.
