Former Al Ahly Star: Red Devils Missed Out on Easiest League Title Last Season

Ahmad Keshari, the former Al Ahly player, stated that the Red team had a disappointing season under the management of former Danish coach Jess Thorup, which led to his departure from the club and the appointment of Moroccan coach Hussein Ammouta as his successor.

Kashari stated in an interview on the "Prime" program via "Ten" channel: "Al Ahly squandered the chance to win the easiest version of the league last season, and luck was absent for the team in many matches. Moreover, the previous coaching staff led by Youssef Torabi bears the greatest responsibility for losing all domestic and continental titles, as well as missing the opportunity to participate in next season's CAF Champions League."

He added: "I hope for a successful experience for Hussein Amouta with Al Ahly next season to compensate for last season's failure. I also hope that the new signings made by the recruitment committee will be worthy of Al Ahly and not be subpar deals like those that occurred last season."

Al Ahly will meet Eastern Company in the first round of the Egyptian Premier League on Sunday, August 23.
