Aston Villa inquires about signing Jonathan David

Aston Villa has expressed interest in acquiring Canadian forward Jonathan David from Juventus, a move that could impact the Italian club's attacking plans during the current transfer window.

According to "Football Italia," citing "Tutto Mercato Web," Aston Villa is exploring the possibility of signing David, with a loan option being discussed, but no formal negotiations have taken place yet.

Juventus needs to sell David to generate the necessary funds to sign a new striker, as Giovanni Carnevali and Frederic Massara are working to bolster the team's attack.

Joshua Zirkzee, the Manchester United forward, is a prime target for Juventus, especially as the club believes his ability to link play and create space could complement Randal Kolo Muani. Meanwhile, Manchester United has shown openness to loaning him out.

David managed to score just 8 goals during his first season with Juventus after joining the team for free from Lille. He struggled with being benched under Igor Tudor, but his performance improved following Spalletti's arrival, and he netted 3 goals for Canada in the World Cup.

David's departure faces hurdles due to his desire to remain at Juventus and convince Spalletti, alongside interest from Crystal Palace. His salary stands at €6 million per year, but Aston Villa's interest could pave the way for his transfer and open the door for Juventus to move for Zirkzee.
