Ahmed Shobair: Imam Ashour to Stay with Al Ahly Next Season

Ahmed Shobair has confirmed that Imam Ashour, the star of Al Ahly, will continue with the club and will not leave this summer. This comes after Ashour received an offer from Turkish side Konyaspor recently.

Shobir added in media statements: "Al Ahly will not part with any key player from the squad, especially the quintet Imam Ashour, Mustafa Shobir, Mohamed Hani, Marwan Attia, and Yasser Ibrahim, unless a fantastic offer comes in."

He continued: "The club's refusal to allow players to turn professional does not mean it is against the player. There are players who have turned professional and failed; not everyone can be Mohamed Salah. For instance, Mohamed Abdelmonem turned professional but struggled due to injury and did not participate last season with Nice."

Shobir concluded his statements by saying: "Imam Ashour is continuing with Al Ahly and there is no intention to let him go at the moment because all the offers are weak and the club will not agree to the departure of any star."
