Barcelona Closes Door on Bergvall Again
Swedish forward Lucas Bergwijn, currently with Tottenham, has been offered to Barcelona once again by his agents, as the player looks for a new club during the current transfer window due to his diminishing chances of securing regular playing time with the English side.
According to Spanish newspaper 'Sport', Tottenham may ask for around £60 million to part ways with their Swedish midfielder, but this figure has not changed Barcelona's stance on the deal.
Sporting Director Deco is adamant about not reopening the file on Bergwijn, after the club deemed negotiations to have concluded definitively back in 2024, when the player opted to join Tottenham instead of Barcelona.
Barcelona was close to signing Bergvall in 2024, when he was playing for Swedish club Djurgården, but Tottenham intervened with a better financial offer, leading the player to ultimately decide on a move to London.
Currently, Barcelona is focusing its midfield attention on Rodri, the star of Manchester City, as the Catalan club places him at the top of its priorities for bolstering this position, making the return of Bergwijn to Barcelona's plans unlikely at this time.
