Akam Hashim Bids Farewell to Al-Zawraa with Emotional Message
Defender Akam Hashim sent a message of thanks and appreciation to the management and fans of Al-Zawraa, following the official announcement of his departure from the club and his move to Zakho during the current summer transfer window.
Zakho FC announced yesterday that they have officially signed Hashim on a contract that extends for one season, with a total value of 1.7 billion Iraqi dinars.
The player stated in his message:
"I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to the management of Al-Zawraa Club, its technical and administrative staff, and my fellow players for every moment I spent with this great institution."
He added: "Thank you to the loyal Al-Zawraa fans for their continuous support and sincere love, which has always been a source of strength and motivation to give my best."
The player stated: "I am proud to have been part of this prestigious club, and I will always cherish the memories and moments we shared."
Hashim concluded: "I wish Al-Zawraa Club ongoing success and achievement of more accomplishments in the future. Thank you from the heart to everyone who supported me and stood by my side, and your love and appreciation will always be a badge of honor for me."
Hashim is currently one of the top defenders in Iraq, having previously played for Al-Shorta before moving to Al-Zawraa. He has delivered impressive performances with the Hawks and has proven himself as a regular choice in the defense. He has also been a strong presence for the Iraqi national team in recent competitions.
Zakho's management is looking to strengthen their backline with an experienced player, especially after the club made impressive signings this summer, most notably the acquisitions of Haroun Ahmed and Mustafa Saadoun.
Al-Khabour is betting on Hashim's experience and defensive solidity to guide the team in the 2026-2027 Iraqi Premier League season, competing strongly for the top positions.
