Official: Marino Pusic Appointed New Al Ahly Coach

Al Ahly has officially appointed Croatian-Dutch Marino Pusic as the new head coach of the first team, succeeding former manager Matthias Jaissle, with a contract that extends for two years until June 2028.

Boussetich has extensive coaching experience in European and Gulf football, having previously worked with prominent Dutch clubs, including Twente, Alkmaar, and Feyenoord. During his time with Twente, he led the team to promotion to the Eredivisie after winning the Eerste Divisie title in the 2018-2019 season.

Botic has worked alongside coach Arne Slot in Feyenoord's technical staff, helping the team secure the Eredivisie title in the 2022-2023 season, as well as reaching the UEFA Europa Conference League final in the 2021-2022 season.

The Croatian-Dutch coach has taken over as the head coach of Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine, achieving the Ukrainian Premier League title and the Ukrainian Cup twice. He also guided the team in the UEFA Champions League, securing a historic victory against Barcelona.

His last coaching experience was with Al Jazira Club in the UAE, where he contributed to leading the team to qualify for the AFC Champions League. He also guided them to the final of the UAE President's Cup after the club had been absent from this stage for several years.

Pusic is known for his attacking football style, high pressing, and tactical flexibility, a philosophy that Al Ahly sees as compatible with the team's identity in recent seasons, along with its suitability to the capabilities and characteristics of the squad.

Bousitich will arrive at Al Ahly accompanied by his entire coaching staff, with the announcement of his lineup and the names of the coaching team members to be made later.
