The Turkish Football Federation has announced the appointment of former international English referee Anthony Taylor as the head of elite refereeing within the central referees committee. This move aims to develop the refereeing system and elevate the standards of referees across various domestic competitions, just days after his official retirement from officiating.

Taylor will take charge of supervising the development and qualification of referees, preparing training programs, enhancing performance evaluation mechanisms, and developing match analysis and feedback processes. Additionally, he will establish a comprehensive strategy for referee development in line with the standards of UEFA and FIFA.

The appointment of the English referee, who has officiated hundreds of matches in the Premier League and participated in major tournaments such as the World Cup, the European Championship, and the Champions League, is part of the Turkish Federation's plan to rebuild the refereeing system and enhance its efficiency in the upcoming phase.

The Turkish Football Federation has officially announced the commencement of Anthony Taylor's duties in his new role, relying on his extensive international experience to contribute to the improvement of Turkish refereeing standards in the coming years.
