Reports have revealed a new development in the crisis surrounding FIFA President Gianni Infantino, indicating that he has offered Morocco the opportunity to host the final match of the 2030 World Cup in exchange for the kingdom's support amid the growing pressures he faces to remain at the helm of FIFA.

According to the Daily Mirror, Infantino is currently in Morocco, where he held an emergency meeting with FIFA officials, coinciding with the rising criticism directed at him following the controversy surrounding the project to sell rights related to the World Cup, a project that has faced widespread objections within the corridors of football.

According to the report, Morocco, which will host the 2030 World Cup in partnership with Spain and Portugal, along with three matches in South America, is one of Infantino's strongest supporters since he took over the presidency of FIFA. The country aspires to host the final match at the new Hassan II Stadium in Casablanca, which has a capacity of 115,000 spectators, making it the largest stadium dedicated to football in the world upon its completion.

According to the newspaper, citing The Times, Infantino promised Morocco that the 2030 World Cup final would be held at the Hassan II Stadium instead of the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid, in exchange for the kingdom's public support for him amid rising criticism.

The report indicated that the FIFA President is also feeling increasing concern due to the declining level of support he is receiving from Saudi Arabia, the country preparing to host the 2034 World Cup, which has intensified the pressures surrounding his future within the international federation.

In a related context, the circle of critics surrounding Infantino has widened with the addition of former Portuguese star Luis Figo, who has called for his immediate resignation and directed sharp criticisms at him, considering his behavior to be "the lowest, most deceptive, and selfish" he has witnessed throughout his career in the world of football.

Figo added that the FIFA President has disrespected the position he previously pledged to uphold and develop, emphasizing that his departure has become necessary for the benefit of global football, amid growing controversy over his management of FIFA's affairs.
