Referee Committee Bans Media Appearances for Officials

Media figure Hani Hathout has reported that the new head of the referees committee, Essam Abdel Fattah, has begun his tenure at the Egyptian Football Association with a series of decisive measures. Hathout confirmed that this step was a direct response to calm the atmosphere following the controversy and debate sparked by the recent statement from Al Ahly club directed against the refereeing system.

During his program "Modern Sports," Hattahut reported that Issam Abdel Fattah issued a clear warning to all referees and members of the Referees Committee, instructing them not to appear in the media or make any statements regarding clubs or respond to official statements issued by them.

These administrative moves come as a direct reaction to the scathing remarks made by Al Ahly recently, where they attacked the general policy of the Egyptian Football Association regarding the new formation of the appointments committee and the leadership names assigned to manage the refereeing file.

Hathtout added that the Chair of the Referee Committee has been striving since the beginning of his tenure to avoid any clashes with clubs or to stir up new crises. He stressed the necessity for all referees and committee members to refrain from discussing any arbitration-related matters publicly or responding to criticisms, in order to maintain the stability of the system in the upcoming phase.
