Zamalek Responds to Al Ahly's Recent Statement

The Zamalek Club Board has expressed its complete rejection of any questioning of the integrity of Egyptian refereeing. This comes as the club's first response to the statement issued by Al Ahly directed to the Football Association.

Zamalek stated in an official statement: "The club's board has followed with great astonishment the early campaign against Egyptian refereeing, and the prior objections to the formation of the referees' committee."

The Zamalek board stated: "We would like to clarify several points to the public. Firstly, the early threats to referees, objections to certain names, and recalling refereeing cases from last season to cast doubt and create confusion is completely unacceptable. This aims to intimidate referees before the start of the season, as has been customary in recent seasons. Secondly, it is unacceptable to question the integrity of Egyptian refereeing and all elements of the Egyptian football system."

The Zamalek Club Board stated: "The Zamalek Club Board appreciates the efforts of the Egyptian Football Association, led by Hani Abou Rida, in developing the football system and capitalizing on the successful participation of our national team in the recent World Cup."

Zamalek's statement concluded with: "The Zamalek board commends the federation president for his commitment to justice for the club, and for announcing to the sports community that all contracts of Zamalek players are valid. We urge the Football Association and relevant authorities to investigate the validity of contracts for players from other clubs, in order to clarify the truth for everyone."
