Rodri Tells Manchester City of Desire to Join Real Madrid
Real Madrid is nearing the realization of one of its major objectives in the summer transfer market, as Spanish midfielder Rodrigo Hernández "Rodri", star of Manchester City, has openly expressed his desire to wear the royal team's jersey, a move that could bring the deal closer to its final stages.
According to EsRadio, Rodri has communicated to Real Madrid officials his desire to join the team during the current transfer window. He has also notified Manchester City’s management that he does not intend to consider any other offers, stating that his absolute priority is to move to the Spanish club.
The report indicated that this situation prompted Manchester City to inform interested clubs about the player's services, primarily Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, that Rodri has decided on his preferred destination and has given Real Madrid the advantage in negotiations.
The source added that the royal club has reached a verbal agreement with the player regarding all personal contract terms. The only remaining obstacle is to reach an agreement with Manchester City over the transfer fee.
According to the report, Rodri's transfer value is expected to range between €65 and €75 million depending on variables and incentives, while the player aims to help ease negotiations by assisting in reducing the fee, paving the way for the deal's completion.
The report clarified that Rodri's connection to Real Madrid is not a recent development, as his name has been associated with a transfer to the "Santiago Bernabéu" since last summer. Additionally, the club's former presidential candidate, Enrique Riquelme, had made signing him one of his top priorities had he won the elections.
As the summer transfer window draws to a close, indications suggest that Rodri's move to Real Madrid is becoming more likely, pending a final agreement between the two clubs that would finalize one of the most significant deals of the current market.
